On behalf of the staff at the College, we hope that all families were able to enjoy some quality time together over the Term 2 break. Hopefully, the students were able to get some much-needed rest and are re-energized for a big Term 3. This term will of course be full of many events and activities, and we look forward to supporting and guiding the students through the upcoming subject selection process.
Just a reminder to families of current students: If your son is currently in Year 5 and you would like him to also attend Parade College in Year 7 in 2028, you will need to ensure that you also meet the enrolment deadline as noted below:

Congratulations to Tom Montgomery-Scobie and Alexander Larocca, who have both been recognised with Premier’s VCE Awards for their outstanding achievements in 2025.
The Premier’s VCE Awards are among the highest honours awarded to Victorian senior students, recognising exceptional achievement, dedication, and excellence across the VCE and VCE Vocational Major. For Parade College to have two students recognised at state level is an extraordinary achievement and a proud moment for our entire College community.
Tom Montgomery-Scobie was recognised as an Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student, placing him among just eight students across Victoria to receive this prestigious award. This is a particularly significant milestone for Parade College, as Tom is our first Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student to be recognised through the Premier’s VCE Awards.
Tom consistently demonstrated excellence across the academic, vocational, and personal development areas of his VCE Vocational Major program. His outstanding commitment was also recognised at last year’s Year 12 Valete graduation, where he received the College’s Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student Award, as well as the Nolan Cup, awarded to a student who exemplifies exceptional leadership, initiative and contribution to school and community life.
Tom’s achievements extended across key areas of applied learning. He received awards for Certificate II in Building and Construction – Carpentry and VCE Vocational Major Numeracy, reflecting his ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts, particularly in practical trade settings where accuracy, teamwork and responsibility are essential.
Beyond his coursework, Tom represented Parade College and the broader vocational education community as a student presenter at the Victorian Applied Learning Association Conference, where he shared the success of the College’s Curraghmore and Waterford Garden program and provided insight into how similar projects could support vocational learning in other schools.
Tom also demonstrated strong leadership within the College community. He took initiative in group projects, mentored younger students, exploring both Vocational and VCE pathways, and actively promoted the value of applied learning. His achievement is a testament not only to his hard work, initiative, and community spirit, but also to the dedication and expertise of the staff involved in the VCE Vocational Major program at our Preston Campus. This award recognises the continued growth, strength, and importance of the program in providing meaningful and successful pathways for our students.
Alexander Larocca, our 2025 College Dux, received a Study Award for Excellence in Systems Engineering, recognising him as one of Victoria’s three highest-achieving students in the subject. Alexander’s award reflects his outstanding academic ability, commitment to learning, and pursuit of excellence throughout his VCE studies.
A total of 322 of Victoria’s top-performing students were recognised at this year’s Premier’s VCE Awards, including students who completed the VCE Vocational Major program with distinction and students recognised as Top All-Round VCE High Achievers. Tom and Alexander’s achievements place them among the very best senior students in Victoria.
I also acknowledge James Fogarty and Paul Watson, who attended the award ceremony alongside Tom and Alexander’s families. Their presence reflected the strong support, pride, and care that our College community continues to show in celebrating the achievements of our students.
