Going to school every day is the most important part of your child’s education. We pride ourselves on the partnership we have with our families and hope that families will continue working with us to support their child’s regular attendance at school.
House Leaders are working closely with Tutor Teachers to regularly check attendance of students in each Tutor Group, this includes attendance every morning to Tutor Group. We seek parental support in ensuring that students arrive promptly each morning and attend every timetabled class throughout the day.
When your child misses one day per week, they miss eight full weeks of learning each year. That significantly impacts their learning and has implications for their progression.
To support students in enacting the Parade College PEERS agreement, an informative handbook titled Habits of a Parade Learner has been created. The purpose of the handbook is to help students and families better understand the College’s PEERS agreement. It outlines how students arrive to class each day, clarifies the College’s expectations, and aligns with the values of our community.
Please find here the Engage chapter of the handbook which guides students on being active members of their classes. When students require support with engaging in their learning, their subject teacher may refer them to a Study Support Session. These sessions occur three lunchtimes per week at the Bundoora campus and provide students the opportunity to catch up on overdue homework or classwork. Parents are advised of referral via a detention slip sent automatically via SIMON/PAM.
2026 NAPLAN
The College has recently received the 2026 NAPLAN results for individual students. These reports have been mailed directly to parents and guardians. We are proud to announce that several students have also been awarded a certificate from the VCAA to recognise their learning growth from Year 7 to Year 9. Recipients of the certificates will receive these with their student results statement. Celebrating Outstanding Achievement in NAPLAN
We are proud to recognise and congratulate our Year 9 students who have been awarded a Victorian Year 9 NAPLAN Certificate of Achievement. These certificates acknowledge students who have demonstrated either exceptional achievement or significant learning growth during their secondary schooling journey.
Students awarded under the excellence category attained the highest NAPLAN proficiency level, while those recognised for growth showed significant improvement over time, placing them among the highest-performing students for progress when compared with peers who had similar Year 7 results.
These achievements reflect not only the dedication and perseverance of our students, but also the valuable support provided by families and teachers throughout their learning journey. Whether recognised for excellence or outstanding growth, each recipient should be immensely proud of their achievement.
Students will be notified of electives for 2027 in November. As a part of the subject selection process, students who have applied for acceleration may receive communication earlier to advise of the outcome of their application. Acceleration applications are reviewed by an Academic Panel. Along with individual student results, the outcome of an acceleration application may also be influenced by timetable considerations such as class numbers, student numbers, and subject clashes.
