PARADE COLLEGE
X

Thank you to all students and families who participated in this term’s subject selection and VCE and Tertiary Expo. We recognise that conversations about future pathways and post-secondary options can be challenging, particularly as young people navigate a world of changing industries and evolving career pathways. It is also not uncommon for a student’s interests or subject preferences to change over time, or even to differ from what families may have expected. This is a normal and important part of their development. As a College, our role is to work in partnership with students and families to explore each student’s strengths, interests and goals, and to support them in making informed decisions about suitable learning pathways. While Parade College will aim to accommodate as many subject combinations as possible, timetabling requirements, class sizes and staffing considerations mean that not every subject combination can always be guaranteed. Where this occurs, we will work with students and families to identify appropriate alternatives that continue to support each student’s learning. We thank families for their understanding and support throughout this important process. Students and families should expect to receive elective subject allocations in mid-November.

Premier’s VCE Awards Recognition

I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Tom Montgomery-Scobie and Alexander Larocca, who have both been recognised at the Premier’s VCE Awards for their exceptional achievements in 2025.

Tom was recognised as an Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student, while Alexander, our 2025 College Dux, received a Study Award for Excellence in Systems Engineering. This is a significant achievement for both students and a proud moment for the entire Parade College community. Further details about these prestigious awards and the significance of Tom and Alexander’s achievements are included in the Principal’s section of this newsletter.
