Thank you to all staff, students, and families who participated in this term's subject selection process. We recognise that discussing post-secondary plans can be challenging, particularly as young people make decisions in a world that offers more opportunities and career possibilities than ever before. We understand that your child's interests and choices may sometimes surprise you or differ from your expectations. This is a normal part of their development, and our role is to work together to explore their strengths and guide them toward suitable pathways.

While we will make every effort to accommodate students preferred subject combinations, there are times when timetabling, staffing, class viability, and facility constraints mean this is not possible. In some cases, a subject may not attract sufficient student enrolments for the College to run the class. In other instances, a subject may be highly sought after, with enrolment demand exceeding the number of classes the College can reasonably offer. This can be particularly challenging in subjects where specialist facilities limit the number of classes that can be scheduled. Traditionally, this has been the case with Food Studies in Years 7, 9, and 10.

Where a student is unable to be placed into one of their preferred electives, every effort will be made to allocate them to their highest ranked reserve subject. When these situations arise, we will work with your child to identify alternatives that still support their goals. We appreciate your understanding throughout this process. Students and families should expect to receive their child’s elective subject allocation in mid-November.

Student Progress Interviews - Term 3

As we approach the end of Term 3, we encourage all parents and carers to participate in the final Student Progress Interviews for 2026. All interviews will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams, with bookings made through PAM.

This semester there will be two separate online Student Progress Interview events:

Year 11 and 12 VCE and VCE VM Student Progress Interviews

Date: Tuesday 8 September

(Rescheduled from earlier this term due to the previous postponement.)

• Session 1: 4:15 pm to 6:00 pm
• Session 2: 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm

Bookings open: Thursday 27 August

Bookings close: 12.00 pm, Thursday 3 September

Year 7 to 10 Student Progress Interviews

Date: Wednesday 16 September

• Session 1: 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm
• Session 2: 4.15 pm to 6.00 pm
• Session 3: 6.45 pm to 8.30 pm

Bookings open: Thursday 27 August

Bookings close: 9.00 am, Monday 14 September

Year 10 Students Completing an Accelerated VCE Unit 1 and 2 Subject

Interviews with accelerated VCE subject teachers (excluding Religious Education) should be booked during the Year 11 and 12 interview session on Tuesday 8 September.

Interviews with all other Year 10 subject teachers should be booked during the Year 7 to 10 interviews on Wednesday 16 September.

Important School Arrangements for Wednesday 16 September

• All students will be dismissed at 12.50 pm.
• Classes will run as normal through Tutor Group and Periods 1 to 4.
• College bus services will depart at 1.00 pm.
• Year 12 Trial Exams will proceed as scheduled.
• Student supervision will not be available after dismissal.
• The Nash Learning Centre (NLC) and canteen will be closed after dismissal.
