PARADE COLLEGE

Thank you to all families who participated in this year’s student progress interviews. The evening of in-person interviews was encouraging, as we witnessed many thoughtful and productive conversations between families and teachers across both campuses. Communication between home and school plays an important role in supporting student learning and wellbeing, and we encourage families to continue reaching out to teachers whenever questions arise regarding their child’s progress.

Last term, our Year 10 students took part in Mock Interviews as part of their Term 1 Career Development program. Students demonstrated an impressive level of professionalism and preparation, having developed tailored CVs and cover letters aligned to their chosen positions. Interviewers commented positively on the maturity, confidence, and commitment shown by students throughout the process. Our sincere thanks to the volunteer interviewers who generously shared their time and expertise by acting as employers, as well as to our Careers Advisors for coordinating such a valuable and learning experience.

As we approach the end of Semester 1, students in Years 8 to 11 at Bundoora Campus will soon begin preparations for their semester examinations. Families are encouraged to refer to the relevant year level sections of this newsletter for important dates, expectations, and further information.

Semester 1 - Student Free Days

We would like to remind families of the following Student Free Days scheduled for Semester 1.

Staff Professional Learning Days:

  • Monday 11 May
  • Friday 22 May

Report Finalisation Day:

  • Friday 19 June

Students are not required to attend school on these days.

Semester Two

Following the conclusion of the Year 8 to 11 examination period, Semester Two will commence on 22 June. Student timetables are carefully constructed to maximise access to elective subjects. As students transition into new electives, some may also experience a change in teacher for certain year-long subjects. As academic programs continue to expand and offer a broader range of elective opportunities, these timetable adjustments are sometimes necessary to accommodate student selections and to ensure balanced and effective class groupings.
