We invite all interested Year 9 (2025) families and Bundoora Campus Year 10 (2025) families to attend a VCE VM Information Evening at Bundoora Campus on Thursday 12 June. This evening will provide valuable information about our 2026 VCE VM and Year 10 ERPP program options.
There will be two different information sessions occurring on 12 June.
4:15 pm Session
5:30 pm Session
The duration of each session will be approximately 45 minutes. Families interested in attending the evening are asked to click on the following link to select session and the total number of seats you require.
Sessions will occur in the Rivergum Theatre at Parade College's Bundoora Campus.
Please note:
For any questions regarding ERPP and VCE VM, please contact me at tegan.hopkins@parade.vic.edu.au or our College Career Advisors at https://www.paradecollegecareers.com.au
All Year 12 VCE VM including Sport Academy Students based at Bundoora Campus will sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Tuesday 17 June at the Greening Auditorium, Bundoora Campus.
VCE VM students who are not enrolled in any VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequences will only complete Section A of the test. This section assesses literacy and numeracy through a 2-part writing task.
The GAT plays a crucial role by enabling students to demonstrate that they meet the Victorian Literacy and Numeracy Standards required at the senior secondary level. No special study is needed, past learning in Literacy and Numeracy will support students in completing the test. Each student will receive a GAT Statement of Results, which will indicate whether they have met the literacy and numeracy standards.
For further details, please refer to official communication from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).
Our Work Learning Program runs from 23 June to 4 July. Students must ensure all paperwork is submitted to Mr Hosking or Ms Hopkins — these are now overdue.
Opportunities can be found via the School to Work portal: https://workplacements.education.vic.gov.au/ and students are encouraged to share any leads via email.
We are always looking for supportive employers! If you own a business or can offer a placement and have a Working with Children Check, please email Tegan Hopkins at Tegan.hopkins@parade.vic.edu.au for more information.
At Parade College's Preston Campus, students in the Business Academy are not just learning about enterprise and leadership, they are living it. Hugh Russell H10B, AJ Morgan H10B, and Eden Akers H10B, three passionate Year 11 students currently completing their Certificate III in Community Services, have embraced the opportunity to give back and grow through real-world experience. The Certificate III in Community Services equips students with essential communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while providing insight into real-world social and community issues. These foundations are valuable for students interested in socially responsible business, social enterprise, or future studies in business and community-focused careers.
Hugh Russell - “We love going out to serve the community. It is more than just a course; it is something that is teaching us life skills we will use forever.”
As part of their placement, the students have been supporting students at Sacred Heart Primary School in Preston. Whether it is lending a hand in the classroom, organising activities, or simply being a positive presence, their involvement is making a genuine impact.
AJ Morgan - “Helping younger kids is really rewarding. You can see how much they appreciate it, and we have learned a lot about patience, communication, and responsibility.”
The Business Academy has opened doors not only to service opportunities but also to future aspirations. All three students are aiming for direct university entry into La Trobe in 2027, a goal made more achievable thanks to their practical experience and academic preparation.
Eden Akers - “This program has shown us how to be leaders in the community. It has helped shape who we want to be.”
With a strong foundation of service, skills, and dedication, the future looks bright for these young Paradians. Thank you to their teacher Ms Sahar Gally who has been supporting our students as part of their VET Cert II Community Services subject.
