Year 10 Bundoora and Year 11 VCE students will have exams in all subjects.
Year 10 and 11 examinations will be held from Monday 2 June until Monday 16 June. All students are required to wear their correct full school uniform in all examinations. Sport uniform may not be worn, except by those involved in ACC Sport on the day of the exam.
Year 10 students will return to school for regular timetabled classes and exam feedback on Tuesday 17 June. This will be a student free day for Year 11 VCE students as they may be required to sit the GAT on this day.
Year 11 students will return to regular timetabled classes and exam feedback on Wednesday 18 June.
Note: Year 10 and 11 students are required to attend school for only the times of their examinations plus 30 minutes prior. There will be no Tutor Group during the exam period for Year 10s and 11s.
Study halls will be available in the NLC for any student remaining at school during normal school hours. If a student does not attend a Year 10 or 11 examination, if possible, it will be rescheduled only for approved school events (e.g. ACC Sport) or upon presentation of a medical certificate. Similarly, some students may have an exam clash, which can be rescheduled in consultation with Mr Fogarty. Please see the SIMON Daily Messages for the process for rescheduling exams. For any questions regarding the Year 10-11 exam period, please contact Mr James Fogarty, Dean of Learning Years 10 to 12.
The Nano Nagle tutoring program, which sees high-achieving Old Paradian students from the Class of 2024 tutoring our current VCE students, continues in Term 2. Having settled into the expectations of their senior classes, the tutoring program is now open to Year 10 students as well as all VCE students. The program will run on every Tuesday and Thursday this term, from 3:30pm to 4:25pm in the VCE Study Centre (MQ28). The only afternoon in Term 2 when the program will not run is Tuesday 17 June (the day of the GAT). Students who attend are welcome to receive help or simply study in the area. This is a great opportunity for VCE students to get extra assistance in meeting the demands of the final years of their schooling.
The GAT is scheduled for Tuesday 17 June, and will be held in the Greening Auditorium. All Year 12 VCE and Year 12 VCE VM students (including Year 12 Sport Academy) complete the GAT, as well as Year 11 students accelerating in a Unit 3-4 subject. Students can get a sense of the types of questions included in the GAT via the VCAA website.
Students who are absent for a SAC are reminded to obtain a medical certificate, to present to their teacher upon their return. Generally, missed SACs are rescheduled to Thursday afternoons and can go as late as 5:15pm, so students should avoid scheduling part-time work or other commitments on this day.
