The Year 7 Sport Development Program at Parade College is designed for students passionate about sport and committed to developing their athletic abilities. This program provides access to specialist coaching and the opportunity to train alongside like-minded peers, fostering both individual and team growth.
Students can choose from a range of sport electives, including:
Each elective runs for one term (9–10 weeks), with seven lessons per cycle. These electives are offered in addition to the Year 7 general sports curriculum, PE programs, and ACC competition matches, ensuring a comprehensive sporting experience.
Participation in a sport elective replaces non-sporting electives, enabling students to dedicate themselves to athletic development. The program emphasises a high-performance mindset, promoting holistic preparation to help students excel both on and off the field.
The Year 7 Sport Acceleration Program offers a unique opportunity for young athletes to pursue their sporting passions while building the skills and discipline needed for future success.
Enrolment in the program is optional, and places are limited. Trials for the sport electives are held for Year 6 students that have enrolled at the College before they commence Year 7. Students are able to select up to two sport electives, allowing them to focus on their areas of interest while exploring a variety of other disciplines.
