ACC Sport - Parade College

The Associated Catholic Colleges Victoria comprises thirteen Colleges who come together throughout the year for Sport and Cultural activities. The ACC's motto is "Achieve, Collaborate, Celebrate" and endeavours to create an environment where excellence is acknowledged, but so too are values like sportsmanship, effort, development and creativity.

The Association formed in 1911 with Parade College being a foundation member and it continues to hold a strong presence to this day in all competitions. In 2024 Parade’s successes include winning the Athletics championship, taking out the Battle of the Bands and again winning the Culinary competition. Fixtured sport premierships included winning the prestigious Senior Football and Senior Basketball titles, as well as various premierships across all year levels in Table Tennis, Soccer, Cricket, Football and Basketball.

Section Process

Our approach to selection for our interschool competitions, embraces a spectrum that spans from participation and play to competitive success. At Year 7 and 8, we enter a large number of teams into our sporting competitions to promote inclusivity and encourage active participation.

As students’ progress through to the senior years, the focus of all our teams begins to shift more towards performance and success.

The philosophy underpinning our selection process is outlined below.

The first consideration for selection
Division 1 Teams: The main priority for selection in our Division 1 teams, is individual performance and each players contribution to team success. This allows us to maintain high levels of competitiveness that drive standards and challenge the talented students to enhance their development.
Lower divisions: These teams have a more balanced approach, with participation becoming more of a focus, particularly in Year 7 and 8. In recognition of the non-lineal nature of development, selection will consider the amount of time and games each individual receives so that all students have an opportunity to enact the feedback and learning they have received throughout their time in the program.

By creating an inclusive yet aspiration environment, Parade College ensures students can thrive, whether they aim to compete at elite levels or simply enjoy the camaraderie and benefits of sport. This dual focus underscores our dedication to both personal growth and competitive excellence.
