General Information

Students at Parade College have the opportunity to be involved in sport in the ACC (Associated Catholic Colleges) competition. Involvement in ACC sport provides students with the opportunity to develop areas such as;

INTER-SCHOOL SPORTING PROGRAM

Parade College competes in the ACC (Associated Catholic College) Sporting competition which involves the following schools;

Matches are played on the following days and generally commence at 1.30pm; however, parents and students are advised to look at the weekly fixture, as venue / time changes may occur throughout the season. The weekly fixture can be viewed on this website.

UNIFORM

Students, except Year 9 are permitted to wear the Parade Sports Uniform on their specific ACC Sports day. Year 9 students are permitted to wear their sports uniform on Wednesday, as this is their Excel day. If students are involved in training on days other than their specific sports day, then they wear their regular school uniform to school and bring their sports uniform.

Terms 1 & 4	Students are permitted to wear their Parade sports polo shirt and Parade sports shorts. They also have the option of wearing their Parade tracksuit. The Parade sports hat is to be worn during all outdoor activities.
Terms 2 & 4	Students should wear their Parade sports polo shirt and Parade shorts; however, they must wear their Parade Tracksuit as the outer garment to and from school.

PARADE UNIFORM SHOP

The uniform shop is situated at both the Bundoora Campus and Preston Campus in the Administration building. At the Bundoora Campus, the Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday afternoon between 2.30 and 4.00pm, and on Friday morning between 8.00 and 9.00am. At the Preston Campus, the Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday between 10.30 and 11.00am Listed below is the cost of all sporting apparel.

PLAYING UNIFORMS

Cricket	Students who represent the College in cricket playing are asked to wear cricket whites. These can be purchased from your local sports store
Basketball	Students who represent the College in Basketball will be supplied Parade Basketball shorts and singlets on a weekly basis.
Football	Years 7 - 10 Students selected to represent the College in football are asked to purchase the following items; Parade Football Jumper Parade Football Shorts Parade Football Socks Years 11 & 12 Students who represent the College in Senior football will be supplied with a jumper on a weekly basis;however, they are asked to purchase the following items; Parade Football Shorts Parade Football Socks
Hockey	Students who represent the College in Hockey are required to purchase Parade football socks. The Parade polo sports shirt and Parade sports short are also required.
Soccer	Students who represent the College in Soccer will be supplied with a Parade Soccer top on a weekly basis; however, they must purchase the following items; Parade Soccer Shorts Parade Soccer Socks
Swimming	Students who represent Parade in the ACC Swimming Carnival will be supplied with bathers.
Table Tennis	Students who represent the College in Table Tennis are required to wear their Parade sports shorts and Parade sport polo shirt.
Tennis	Students who represent the College in Tennis are required to wear their Parade sports shorts and Parade sport polo shirt.
Volleyball	Students who represent the College in Volleyball are required to wear their Parade sports shorts and Parade sport polo shirt.

BEHAVIOUR AND ATTITUDE

All students who participate in Sport at Parade College are expected to abide to the following expectations;

Students who do not comply with the above may be suspended from playing for the College

ACC HIGH PERFORMANCE CLASSES – BUNDOORA CAMPUS

To be involved in ACC Sport at Years 8, 9 or 10, students are selected in an ACC High Performance Class. Selection into this class relates specifically to ACC sports and is a semester subject. If selected, students have the option of doing ACC High Performance in either Semester 1 and 2 or both. Listed below are some questions and responses that may assist in the understanding how ACC High Performance is conducted at the College.

How are students selected into an ACC High Performance class?

Selection is based on a combination of some or all of the following criteria;

Selection is completed annually.

Being involved in an ACC High Performance class at one specific year level does not guarantee selection in the following year. Selection is based on the criteria listed above. This process allows developing students who may have missed selection in one year, an opportunity to be involved in the following year.

Does involvement in ACC High Performance guarantee selection into a team?

No. If a student is selected into an ACC High Performance class, then they are part of a specific sporting squad. Selection for all ACC teams will then come from these specific squads. Students who aren’t selected in the final team will be involved in a Physical Education practical class during ACC matches.

What does my son do if he is not in an ACC High Performance Class?

Student is not involved in an ACC High Performance Class at Years’ 8 or 9 will be involved in regular Physical Education classes. Student in Year 10 who are not involved in an ACC High Performance class would select another elective.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CLASSES – PRESTON CAMPUS

One of the aims of establishing High Performance classes is the select the most appropriate students for specific sports. Due to the large number of students at the Bundoora Campus, the High Performance Classes allows the College to do just that. However, as there are less students at the Preston Campus, there is no need to offer such classes as all students wanting to be involved in ACC Sport will play in at least one ACC sport per year.
