FACILITIES @ BUNDOORA CAMPUS

Year8

Parade College, Bundoora campus is blessed with spacious grounds and modern facilities which allow us to offer boys a well-rounded education in attractive and well-cared for surrounding.

Our theatre, auditorium, library and ovals all bear the names of people who have helped create Parade as it is today – fitting reminders of our heritage and history.

The grounds and the buildings are scrupulously maintained with help from the school communities and boys are taught to appreciate the facilities available to them.

ALPHINGTON COURT

Alphington Court is an undercover playground area in the Waterford Complex which can be set up for indoor soccer, volleyball, badminton and tennis. It’s also the venue for College Assemblies, parent-teacher nights and subject selection briefings. The name 'Alphington Court' commemorates the old Parade Preparatory school which operated between 1953 and 1988.

AMPITHEATRE

The Amphitheatre is the principle feature of Nolan Court and is named after one of the founding Brothers of the College, Br. B. J. Nolan. Br. Nolan was a versatile tradesman and the Court named after him is also versatile as it used as playground space, for classroom drama, as a venue for short assemblies and for Tutor Group liturgies.

College Hall was completed in 2003 and opened for the 2004 school year. It is a multi-purpose building used for full school and House assemblies, sporting activities and physical education classes. It is the size of three basketball courts and can seat 2000 in one sitting. It also has the facility to be used for special functions.

It is the showpiece of the school and we are very proud of it.

GROUNDS

Year8

The foresight of the Old Paradians and the Provincial Council, means we enjoy the luxury of extensive grounds. There are a number of dedicated sporting ovals named after former Principals and four tennis courts and basketball courts in Waterford Park and Callan Court.

There are several open spaces such as the Upper and Lower Quadrangle and Edmund Rice Plaza which, when combined with the sporting ovals and courts, make Parade the envy of many other schools.

IT SERVICES

Information technology is a vital part of the modern world and Parade is well resourced to teach the subject, with over 400 computers for the use of staff and students.

An exciting initiative has been the development of 'e-rooms' which are shared spaces within a cluster of classrooms. At this stage there are eight computers in each of these e-rooms in the new ERC building.

The College also has five computer laboratories used mainly for teaching Information Technology subjects, two senior computer rooms with IBM Compatible computers and three other rooms for Years 9 & 10, and for general classroom use across all Learning Areas. Other facilities include a design room where students work on graphics and technology projects, a control laboratory for robotics, a media room and an Audio Visual room which can be used for student presentations.
